Position Overview:
Reporting to the QA Manager, the Junior Software Test Analyst plays a pivotal role in ensuring that our product releases meet the highest standards of quality and usability for our end users. This position will cover maternity leave for 18 months, with the possibility of an extension.
  • Participate in the review of requirements and designs to create and maintain testing plans.
  • Take ownership of the test suite.
  • Execute testing in pre-production environments
  • Utilize bug defect solutions to record, classify, and process issues.
  • Update internal documents to capture new or changed requirements.
  • Assist in the resolution of live issues/ support requests by reproducing issues and tracking them through to resolution.
  • Contribute to enhancing systems and processes to improve QA efficiency and effectiveness.
About You:
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, analytical, methodical, and patient
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • Previously used in project management software such as Jira.
  • Foundation in software quality assurance and experience in Agile work environments.
  • Fast learning.
  • Self-starter.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Eligible for either of the following programs DS4Y program, WIL Digital grant, or Lighthouse Labs program.
Bonus Skills:
Software development and/or scripting experience.
AWS infrastructure experience.
Foundation ISTQB Software. Tester certification.

  • Post-secondary graduate
  • Working in a technology-related position or supporting digital work.
  • Not receiving EI during the work placement.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
    (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee status).
  • Not an immediate family member of the Employer/principal shareholder.
  • Reside in B.C.
  • Not previously completed a DS4Y work placement.
  • Not a co-op student.
  • You are a Canadian citizen, permanent residents, or persons protected under the Refugee Protection Act.
  • You are registered or enrolled at at a Canadian accredited postsecondary institution during the entire work placement period, and are able to provide proof of full-time or part-time enrolment during placement.
  • You are legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • International students do not qualify.
